Advanced deal as Strand Technology bought for £2m
Cheshire-based Strand Technology has been bought for £2m by Advanced Computer Software Group (ACS).
Lymm-based Strand Technology supplies clinical care management solutions to community care and mental health organisations.
In the year to 31 March 2012, it had a turnover of £1m.
ACS is headquartered in Surrey and provides healthcare and business management software and services.
It said today (13 September 2012) the buyout was a "strategic product acquisition" for its advanced health and care division which would support penetration of the £100m market for community care.
Strand's 'CareNotes' product provides an integrated web-based health and social care service covering all aspects of community and mental health care.
The deal also provided access to new customers across both public and private sectors, ACS said.
Chief executive Vin Murria said: "(The) acquisition extends the group's patient care management software solution into the substantial community and mental healthcare market.
"CareNotes has been developed with the assistance of hundreds of clinicians from trusts and social care organisations throughout England and will play an important role in supporting Advanced's strong growth in delivering care in the community and mobile healthcare solutions."
